Wi-fi issue seams to be solved by installing an older version of the driver. I have working microphones, and when I plugged in the jack, the screen can recognize so. First of all, I downloaded all the necessary drivers from Dell and other sites as listed below.

The reason being is that the hdd is running on ATA which does not require a driver. I think I kind of randomly tried one of these and that did not work, so I dared not go further.

Since my m has the Intel Graphics Card, whose driver is not listed in the beginning pages of this thread, I did a little search and found this: This is vido technical so I am not going into details.
But here is what happened: EXE Version A13, I found this with M XP drivers And it seems, the A09 version does not install well, but the latter two installed smoothly, and these two feel quite the same to me, so I currently just vidfo the A13 version, since it is presumably the latest.
Things got a bit tricky viideo installing the display card.
